Hi I'm Claire McConville, the artist behind Claire McConville Art. Ever since I was a little girl, I had a passion for drawing and making things with my hands. I pursued my artistic dreams by studying Art & Design and then Interior and Furniture design in DIT College. I worked as an interior designer for a while, but then life took a different turn and I became an Executive Assistant. I enjoyed the challenge of being organized and efficient, but I never stopped loving colour and design.

When I had my two boys, Ben & Matthew I started drawing pictures for their rooms and soon other people wanted me to draw pictures for them too or wanted them for gifts. As a busy working Mum I would draw at night when the boys were in bed or at the kitchen table. I started to post my drawings on Instagram to show myself I had completed something for me and to create a little portfolio for me to look back on. With the great support and encouragement I have set up my own website to make it easier for people to purchase paintings & prints. 

Over the last couple of years, I have really focused on my paintings and have seen my skill improve and my style develop which has given me the confidence to take on painting commissions from lovely customers. From these commissions  I have found my love of painting places, houses, toys or even just moments that have been captured by a quick photo and turning them into paintings for people to have, share or gift. I love that a painting is not just pretty  but is stirs a feeling or emotion when we look at it.
